Premio Investigador Joven en Física Experimental, por sus investigaciones innovadoras que han tenido un gran impacto en el desarrollo de detectores de radiación con aplicaciones en las tecnologías para el uso de la energía solar. Así mismo, ha contribuido al desarrollo de dispositivos semiconductores emergentes de coste reducido para conseguir aplicaciones más sostenibles en optoelectrónica.

Sus investigaciones, principalmente enfocadas en el estudio físico-químico de los nanomateriales, en especial en la sintesis de nanopartículas y láminas finas nanoestrucuradas, además de aplicar técnicas de caracterización microestructural para el estudio de materiales en escala nanométrica. En particular, en los campos de fotocatálisis con semiconductores, química de superficies, almacenamiento de hidrógeno y deposición por pulverización catódica de magnetron de láminas y recubrimientos.

Premio FISOCAT Senior 2024

Prof. José Antonio Odriozola

La Federación Iberoamericana de Sociedades de Catálisis (FISOCAT), que reúne las Sociedades Nacionales de Catálisis de 11 países iberoamericanos (Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, España, México, Perú, Portugal, Uruguay y Venezuela), ha otorgado el Premio a la Trayectoria Científica de Excelencia FISOCAT 2024 Senior, al Profesor José Antonio Odriozola del Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Sevilla. Este premio se concede bianualmente desde 2006 y distingue  a investigadores de amplia y reconocida labor científica internacional. En su reciente edición, el jurado del premio ha destacado las contribuciones pioneras de José Antonio en el campo de la catálisis para energía y economía circular combinando química fundamental, ciencia de materiales e ingeniería de reactores, así como su excelente labor en la formación de investigadores internacionales en catálisis.
